The year arrived with warmth and excitement. Kids returned from holiday with twinkling eyes, ready to explore and learn. Classrooms buzzed with activities which children discovered, created, and celebrated through every small achievement. It was a fresh start which held the promise of discovery every day.
February was a month of happiness and generosity. The facility was filled with laughter. It was Recreational Month, the month where every game, puzzle, and activity sparked teamwork, problem-solving, and confidence.
The Ferndale Police Department brought kindness and energy during their visit. Their donations supported our programs and reminded everyone that community care changes lives. Their presence brought smiles, inspiration, and a sense of togetherness that lasted well beyond the day.
March celebrated the magic of art. Our Art therapy sessions elevated the facility into a canvas of imagination. Children explored textures, shapes, and colors, discovering how art could be a language of expression, joy, and confidence.
Tiny hands painted big stories; bright paper and wet brushes became tools for adventure and exploration. Each creation was a reflection of their personalities and limitless imagination.
April was full of visits, showcases, and themed fun.
We were honored to welcome Variety Detroit, whose support over the years has created opportunities for children and families. Their visit reminded us that community partnership turns kindness into action.
During the ART Showcase, children proudly showcased their creations, and parents cheered for the young artists as they shared their stories. We are grateful to the Michigan Health Endowment Fund and Pulte Foundation. The day was a true celebration of talent, courage, and creativity.
And the month ended with Spirit Week: Superhero Day, Pajama Day, and Tie-Dye Day, filling the hallways with laughter, color, and imagination. Kids wore their favorite costumes, hugged their friends, and dove into each theme with joy that was contagious.
May was a month of meaningful connections and generosity. We welcomed the AAA Auto Club Group, whose visit brought opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
A heartwarming meeting with the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation reflected how partnerships nurture growth. Their vision and support continue to make LifeLab Kids a place where children can explore, create, and shine.
The generosity continued with Nordstrom’s donation, which helped in providing tools and resources for children to build skills, confidence, and joy every day.
Summer arrived with exploration and discovery. Our Technology Social Groups turned learning into play, which offered children spaces to invent, problem-solve, and connect.
In VEX Robotics, children built and programmed real robots, discovering the magic of teamwork and design. In Game Coding, kids created their own games, learning logic, creativity, and confidence along the way.
These programs helped them build real-world skills, friendships, and joy. Every day was a chance to celebrate curiosity and imagination.
July was full of energy, community, and kindness. Our Putting Party brought together friends and families for a lively evening of golf-themed fun, laughter, and giving.
The Pulte Family Charitable Foundation helped us raise $60,000; for expanding programs which foster creativity, learning, and joyful discovery. The evening showed that fun and purpose can go hand in hand, creating opportunities that last long after the games end.
August was the time for relaxation, creativity, and activities. Children explored imaginative play, storytelling, and collaborative projects. These long summer days were filled with laughter, curiosity, and the freedom to discover new passions and talents.
September opened doors to new experiences and achievements.
Through our partnership with Trove Market, families of children with cognitive and physical differences had the chance to showcase their creativity and build real-world skills. They can become sellers, share their talent, and earn recognition in a supportive environment.
October was filled with movement and accomplishment. Arjun proudly completed the half marathon at the Detroit Free Press Marathon, showing courage, determination, and pride. We cheered every step, celebrating both effort and achievement.
The month reminded us that every milestone, big or small, deserves celebration, and that joy is found not just in finishing but in trying.
November bought in colors, gratitude, and togetherness.
Our Fall Festival transformed the facility into a world of autumn colors, pumpkins, and creativity. Kids painted, crafted, and decorated with sparkling excitement.
During the Thanksgiving Celebration, therapists and children baked pies together, sharing laughter, learning, and the joy of giving. Moments like these portray the magic in everyday connections and shared experiences.
