Join us in supporting our runners this year and helping us reach our goal of  $50,000!

This year, LifeLab Kids is proud to have Arjun, Jai, and Juthica representing us at the Detroit Free Press Marathon. They are running with the purpose of supporting a future where all children with developmental differences have access to real-world skill-building, meaningful friendships, and pathways toward independence.

Together, we’re aiming to raise $50,000 to expand our programs and empower more young people to grow with confidence.

Why LifeLab Kids Runs the Detroit Free Press Marathon

At LifeLab Kids, we believe in the power of movement, connection, and community. Running teaches focus, determination, and self-belief qualities that help our kids thrive in all areas of life.

By participating in the Detroit Free Press Marathon, we create an inclusive space where kids of all abilities can push boundaries, reach milestones, and feel proud of what they accomplish.

How We’ll Use the Funds Raised

The $50,000 raised from this year’s Detroit Free Press Marathon will go directly toward LifeLab Kids’ Prevocational Program, a new initiative that helps teens and young adults with cognitive or developmental differences gain life and career-readiness skills.

This program includes hands-on learning in:
  • Technology
  • Culinary arts
  • Financial literacy
  • Workplace behavior
  • Social interaction & safety

Participants also practice essential daily living skills like planning meals, managing medications, using public transportation, budgeting, laundry, first aid, and more.

Each lesson helps prepare them for real-world independence and future job opportunities in a supportive, personalized environment.

Every Step Moves Us Forward

Whether you donate, cheer, or spread the word, you’re helping create a future where neurodiverse teens and young adults can grow with purpose, pride, and possibility.

Let’s cross this finish line together.
